Founded in 1893, the Georgia State Medical Association, Inc. (GSMA) is an affiliate of the National Medical Association (NMA). The NMA is the oldest and largest national organization of African American physicians. The NMA advocates for parity and justice in health, medicine and the elimination of disparities.
GSMA operates with the state of Georgia and gives voice to the concerns of African American physicians and physicians serving the minority community. The GSMA is a non-exclusive organization that works to represent its members in all medical, scientific, legislative, public health and other relater matters. Membership in the Association is open to all reputable and legally qualified physicians in the state of Georgia. Working with other organizations, the GSMA is committed to bringing about radical change in healthcare in the state, for the benefit of all of its citizens. |
